Toshiba introduced a flashy, flaming-red notebook today as part of its Qosmio brand, which was previously reserved for multimedia computers. It’s a step up in the deep red of last year’s flare carmine red Satellite notebooks. And, of course, it offers a lot more.
The Qosmio X305 is meant for gamers and includes NVIDIA’s GeForce 9800 GTX GPU3, up to 1 GB of VRAM graphics memory and up to 4 GB memory (earlier version of this post was incorrect on the memory so changes are bolded), 400 GB of storage and a 17.1-inch widescreen display. The flame design, is called “Rogue” and it’s on Toshiba’s Fusion red finish. It also includes a flush-mounted touchpad, a high-speed eSATA port and Harman Kardon high-fidelity bass reflex speakers with a built-in sub-woofer.
But alas, the new gaming machine won’t have The Cell, the chip inside Sony’s PlayStation 3 and its also new sibling, the Qosmio G55 (see”Toshiba’s new laptop has PlayStation 3 chip inside” on Gadgetress blog).
