The page to Blizzard’s Worldwide Invitational has been changing every day. Check out Joystiq’s capture from June 24 and 25, then Kotaku’s capture the next day. We captured the third image below at 10:30 a.m. today, June 27.

Hmm… space, stars, how crafty. Could the big news expected tomorrow be a release date for Starcraft II?
The invitational starts in less than 24 hours in Paris, France at 11:45 a.m. their time. That’s 2:45 a.m. California time. Last year, the Irvine game developer unveiled StarCraft II at its invitational in Korea. This year? Anybody’s guess.

What should Blizzard announce this weekend?

Rumors that Blizzard had set Dec. 3 as the release date for StarCraft 2 were quashed when we spoke to the company earlier this week.
But most speculation for this weekend is Blizzard will release a new game. Here’s a round up of what sites are saying. Check back tomorrow for the big news.
- IGN won’t commit to one game. Instead, it suggests the possibility of Diablo 3, or another Rock ‘n’ Roll Racing, a remake of The Lost Vikings. Or a reworked StarCraft Ghost. Or a hard release date for Wrath of the Lich King.
- A blogger on “MTV Multiplayer” revealed that Blizzard’s recently-changed splash page (above) has stirred fans’ curiosity. It adds to the mix the possibility of a new Warcraft IV.
- Joystiq.com narrows down the top two rumors to a release date for Diablo 3 and Wrath of the Lich King. But the site also personally predicts that the release will be of a Wii-exclusive Blackthorne FPS. The site also has a poll asking fans what they believe will be released.
- Shacknews.com believes it could be a new MMO game based on job listings looking for artists. Shacknews points out that a Blizzard rep posted in a forum to clarify the job was for “an unannounced Next-Gen MMO… And that doesn’t mean an expansion for World of Warcraft either.”
- An SC2 blog says that a Zerg race has already been announced and they “definitely expect [...] the announcement of a beta.”

Um, from what I’ve seen on Blizzards site, this looks nothing like it has to do with Starcraft.
Note the snow, the breaking of ice, and the fact that in the middle eyes seem to form. From what I see, this is World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, not Starcraft. I haven’t heard any news about Starcraft 2 in months, but Blizzard keeps updating their Wrath of the Lich King Website.
So my verdict is Lich King for this one folks.
