Dragon’s Lair, the 1983 arcade game, offered the best animation of its time, which wasn’t difficult during the heyday of Pac-Man and Donkey Kong. According to Wikipedia, Dragon’s Lair “was played so heavily that many machines often broke due to the strain of overuse.”
Twenty five years later, game publisher Digital Leisure has remastered the original and turned it into a high-definition Blu-ray disc. Next week — the game’s 25th anniversary week — Digital Leisure is offering the Dragon’s Lair Blu-ray DVD “personally signed by original creators Don Bluth, Gary Goldman, John Pomeroy and Rick Dyer.” Extra bonus: Buyers will get a 25 percent discount next week.
There’s also a contest! Digital Leisure is giving away a limited-edition giclee of the opening castle scene from Dragon’s Lair, hand signed by all of the creators. Just enter the contest HERE.
